What is shared independent living?

Shared independent living means adults live together in one well-kept home, sharing common areas such as the living room, kitchen, and laundry, while maintaining responsibility for their own daily needs. It is not assisted living, a nursing home, a treatment program, or a shelter.

Who is eligible to apply?

Adults 18 and older who can manage their own personal care and daily activities, have verifiable income or an approved third-party funding source, and are willing to live respectfully with other residents and follow house guidelines.

Are bedrooms shared or private?

Bedrooms are furnished and may be shared depending on the home and current openings. Please call to ask what is available at this time.

What is included in the monthly housing fee?

The monthly fee covers a furnished bedroom, access to shared common areas, kitchen access, and on-site laundry access. Utilities may be included where applicable. Current pricing: Call for current pricing.

Is a security deposit required?

Are meals provided?

No. Meals are not provided. Residents have kitchen access and prepare their own food.

Is transportation provided?

No. Transportation is not provided. The home offers convenient access to the Huntsville area.

Do you provide medical or personal care?

No. We do not provide medical care, medication management, personal care, counseling, or continuous supervision. Residents must be able to live independently.

Are guests permitted?

Guest expectations are outlined in the house guidelines and are designed to protect the comfort and privacy of everyone in the home. Please ask us for current details.

Respectful shared living, quiet hours, a smoke-free indoor environment, shared responsibility for cleanliness, timely payment, and following the written house guidelines.

How does the application process work?

Start with a housing inquiry by phone or through the form on this website. We review the inquiry, discuss availability and fit, and then guide you through the application and screening process.

Do you accept referrals from agencies?

Yes. We welcome referrals from case managers, social workers, veteran programs, probation and parole offices, churches, and community organizations. Use the Referrals page to submit one.
